JOHOR BAHRU: Ranhill SAJ is giving a 50% discount on water consumption for its customers in the B-40 segment, for the month of March 2020.

The effort is as part of the company’s national response to the spread of COVID-19, commonly referred to as Coronavirus.

In a statement issued today, its CEO Sr. Nor Ifuan Md Nor said that the decision is an effort of the company as a responsible corporate citizen to help customers in the Bottom 40 per cent group cope with the current situation.

“Public health and safety is Ranhill SAJ’s highest priority,” said Nor Ifuan. “Given the critical importance of personal hygiene to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and the potential for economic disruptions that may present our customers with unique financial hardships that may affect their ability to fulfil other financial commitments, we feel this action is necessary and appropriate to ensure that their wellbeing is protected at this critical time.”

Meanwhile, to ensure that no customer is without water service during the pandemic, Ranhill SAJ is also suspending enforcement on water disconnection to all other customers until 30 April 2020.

“This means that no water disconnection will be made for overdue and unpaid bills during this period,” explained Nor Ifuan.

Customers whose water service has been recently terminated are encouraged to contact Ranhill SAJ Info Centre at 1-800-88-7474 to request an account review and service restoration.

“Ranhill SAJ is entrusted to serve the people of Johor through water supply, and it will carry on with its responsibility especially during this difficult time,” he said.
